Cracking, Flaking
Cracks forming on the paint surface and loss of its protective properties.
Causes
- Choosing paint with insufficient adhesion and elasticity
- The film layer being too thin due to excessive thinning of the paint
- Inadequate surface preparation and skipping primer application
- Synthetic paint becoming excessively hard and brittle
Solution
Remove loose paint with a wire brush or scraper. Sand the surface and smooth the edges. If flaking appears across multiple layers, filling may be needed. Prime bare areas. Finally, apply a quality paint with high adhesion strength.
