Efflorescence
Salt-like white deposits on the paint surface; it can appear on any colour but is less noticeable on white and light shades.
Causes
- Occurring in sheltered areas that rain, dew and moisture cannot naturally wash off
- Using an excessively filler-heavy primer and paint
Solution
Clean the wall with a wire brush, then repaint with a good primer followed by a quality paint under suitable weather conditions.
